On Sunday, November 10, the Rotary Club of Washington, DC will kick off a series of events at the World Press Photo Exhibition 2019. On view at Dupont Underground from November 8 thru December 8, World Press Photo takes visitors behind the headline photos we know so well and introduces compelling, unfamiliar ones.
For the third time since the exhibition has come to Washington, the Rotary Club of Washington, DC will host the following events throughout the exhibition. All events are free:
- NOV 10, 2:00-4:00 PM | DC Rotary Club Day featuring the 2019 Photo of the Year Winner, John Moore, in conversation with New York Magazine reporter, Olivia Nuzzi. Volunteer citizen, Margaret Dimond, and lovely harpist, Sarah Ramson, round out the afternoon.
- NOV 21 | Private photojournalism workshop for 15 Richard Wright PCS students led by award-winning Washington Post photojournalist, Jahi Chikwendiu.
- NOV 21, 7:00-9:00 PM | DC Rotaract Club film screening of Legacy of the ‘Zero Tolerance’ Policy: Children Traumatized with No Access to Treatment. Special guest, Lorena Arroyo, the film’s producer.
- NOV 22, 7:00-9:00 PM | GW University Rotaract Club and Howard University Rotaract Club digital series screening of Flint Is A Place. Special guest, Roger Sanchez, Associate Director at Mayor’s Office of Nightlife and Culture.
