DEC 12 • 1-Year Anniversary Party!

The New Jazz Listener is the top jazz club on the Clubhouse app, co-founded by me and Marvin Anani in Denver, Colorado. Since its founding on December 10, 2020, it has been an amazing year of incredible music, cool cats and love. Come hang out with me on Sunday, December 12th at anytime between 4:00-5:30 PM EST, as I celebrate this milestone!

Our esteemed guests are Katea Stitt, daughter of the late Sonny Stitt; Abraxas Higgins, the top Clubhouse member in Europe; Jaleel Shaw, an award-winning saxophonist and Katja von Schuttenbach, jazz historian.

New Lifestyle Collection!

After years of being an ambassador for various brands — most notably India Hicks — I decided to curate my own lifestyle collection. Highlights include charm bracelets from Oman, scented mini soaps for on-the-go and, from Japan, beautiful paper incense and stunning lacquered chopsticks.

Georgetown, Georgetown!

So special that this article came to fruition the way that it did.

I met Mapping Georgetown ❤️❤️ at a breakfast event, when they asked me to share my Georgetown neighborhood story. Almost two years later, they expanded their project via a collaboration with The Georgetowner. With my being a part of Mapping Georgetown, my Georgetown story ended up in The Georgetowner!

A warm thank you to all involved, especially the jazz club, Blues Alley.

On June 11, 2021 at 7:00 EDT, get a sneak peek of Washington Performing Arts’ special production coming next season, Hazel Scott at 101, honoring the great jazz pianist and vocalist. The celebration is set to be high-profile and multifaceted, curated with input from Ms. Scott’s son Adam Clayton Powell III and biographer Karen Chilton.

APR 30 • 24-Hr Jazz Marathon

Hang out with me (and help me stay awake!) at midnight on Friday, April 30th as I kick off The New Jazz Listener’s 24-hr Jazz Marathon on the Clubhouse app in celebration of International Jazz Day!

I am among 24 Clubhouse members from 13 countries participating in the event, where we each will play music for one hour. So, you’ll hear everything jazz that I love and that I can fit into an hour!
